Celebration – Composers 80 years

Celebration – Composers 80 was a concert series for the 2025 anniversary year of the Society of Finnish Composers, in which anyone was able to participate in by submitting a concert that meets the criteria of the series. To celebrate the anniversary, we wanted to highlight the close cooperation between composers and performers of new Finnish music, on which we are building our artistic music heritage and future together.  

As many as 54 concerts taking place between 1.6.-31.12.2025 were included in the series. All of them either had a program of music composed only by members of the Society of Finnish Composers, including historical members, or celebrated the jubilee year of the Society of Finnish Composers in an otherwise insightful way. All of the concerts featured music by at least one living member of the Society.

The concerts were very visible in the social media pages of Society of Finnish Composers and were compiled to a concert calendar on the Society’s website. The series delighted us all with it’s diversity: concerts included everything from symphony orchestras to wind bands, chamber music to opera, and also full-fledged concerts of contemporary music in Pirkanmaa music institute and Central-Helsinki Music Institute.
